The Park lies to the east of the Nairobi – Mombasa highway, equi-distant between Nairobi and Mombasa and offers a vast and untapped arena of arid bush which is washed by the azure and emerald meanderings of the Galana River, guarded by the limitless lava reaches of the Yatta Plateau and patrolled by some of the largest elephant herds in Kenya. - Wildlife: The Park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo,crocodile, waterbucks, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk and Hirola
- Birds: The prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
- Mudanda Rock: The Mudanda Rock is a 1.6 km inselberg of stratified rock that acts as a water catchment that supplies a natural dam below. It offers an excellent vantage point for the hundreds of elephants and other wildlife that come to drink during the dry season.
- Yatta Plateau: World’s longest lava flow, runs along the western boundary of the park above the Athi River. Its 290 km length was formed by lava from Ol Doinyo Sabuk Mountain.
- Lugard Falls named after Frederick Lugard, is a series of white water rapids on the Galana River.
- Aruba Dam built in 1952 across the Voi River. The reservoir created by the dam attracts many animals and water birds.

Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East
You will be picked up at your hotel in Mombasa by your driver/guide, then begin your 3-hour drive to Tsavo East National Park. Enter through the Bachuma gate. You will have a game drive en route to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch. After check-in and lunch, you will have the afternoon to relax at the lodge. At 4 p.m. you will take part in a 2-hour evening game drive. This will be followed by dinner and Overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Tsavo East
Today you have two different options for your day. Option 1: Breakfast at the lodge, followed by a full-day game drive in the park beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. You will have a picnic lunch in the park. Option 2: An early morning game drive that starts at 6 a.m. and runs until 9 a.m. Have breakfast back at the lodge. In the afternoon, go on a 3-hour game drive that starts at 3 p.m. Both options include dinner at the lodge. Overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge.
Day 3: Tsavo to Mombasa
Your final day starts with an early morning game drive from 6-8 a.m., then it’s back to the lodge for breakfast. You will check out of your room at 10 a.m. and start your return drive to Mombasa, arriving around 2 p.m. Drop off at your hotel within the Mombasa area.
